Question:
Why do you watch CNN & BBC news?

I watch them because unlike some others, they give us news from all over the world & they are much fairer in their reporting than Fox & other news stations. Anderson Cooper is one of my favorites & The Jim Lehrer News Hour is tops. Of course, if you do not agree, you are probably one of those people who claim they are biased.

My GOD... someone else who likes to get the NEWS and not the OPINIONS...

I watch BBC world news in the AM and the BBC news in the evening. Along with Keith Olberman, Jon Stewart and that republican with the arrogant attitude that follows the Daily show.

Have you noticed how the FOX NOISE NETWORK doesn't even claim to be "Fair and Balanced" any more?

I like BBC as well as the German DW and also Russia Today. They are the only way to view the US in an objective way. Anderson Cooper is terrific. With the networks, Fox and others I feel that I am being spoon fed only what someone else selected and theres more out there to learn. But also now with internet news, its easier to surf around and find what I want.

There are so many stories that get completely pushed aside by the 'liberal' media in America (;?). The news agencies you mention are better. In general, news produced oversees does not dwell on the stupid celebrity and sensation media crime garbage that is the main distraction directed at Americans to keep them from noticing the more substantive problems and issues of the world.

I am sorry to see CNN drifting into the practices of regular tv news these days.

You know, I really don't care about Paris, Harry Potter or the latest white girl to get kidnapped.

I think there are some pretty important events going on in the world.

I watch for the same reason, although I find BBC News awfully boring and repetitive. I do appreciate the BBC World Service (which is the only radio station you can get in the most remote parts of the world) because I like to know what's going on, even when I'm in the middle of nowhere. I was on a remote island in Vanuatu when the Iraq invasion began, and wouldn't have known about it but for BBC World Service, so my hat's off to them.

I watch Beltway Boys on Fox and occasionally O'Reilly to get a taste of what's going on in the US domestic front. But their ex-USA coverage is practically nil. "Around the world in 80 seconds" or whatever it's called.

Anyway, I like to know what's going on everywhere, not just in America.

I don't watch the BBC because it is and I don't watch CNN because I have no idea who they are.
