I want to have a Yard sale in Slidell, Louisiana and not sure if I need a pernit or not?

What exactly do I need and who do I call to get it?

you most likely do not need a permit, but it depends on where you're having the yard sale. if it's on your own personal property that you own, then you shouldn't need one.

but if you plan on having it at a public place owned by the government, or someone else besides you, you might need one. if that is the case, then get in contact with your local police department or city hall/city council. they will be able to help you out. good luck with your yard sale :)

I had one in Monroe LA and didnt have one. I made a good bit of cash and the yard sale police did not get me. It was my moving sale so it was truly an everything goes sale and I never saw anything like it. When you sell everything you own, you cannot imagine the response you get!!

In all states that i;ve been in you don;t need a permit for a yard sales; but in New Orleans it may differ,check with the police dept and they should be able to tell you; and hopefully they won;t make a charge and charge you for it.lots of luck.

I know we need one where I live, and it's obtained at the local city building. Ours is really inexpensive, and if you need one, it probably is, too. Definitely better to have it if required, than to stress over getting caught without it, even if it's not a big deal. Good luck on your sale!
