We need a English Parliament, get rid of all this outdated British thing, the Scottish want Independence from Britain, so do the Irish, and the Welsh, so what about England?

There is a Irish Parliament,

A Scottish Parliament,

Soon to be a Welsh Parliament,

Why not a English Parliament?

Being British does not mean you are just English, but the other Countries in Britain, want out of a British Government

You are over-reacting. It is the nature of free-market capitalism to go through a

succession of boom times and bust times.

During good times, people think that things will always continue to improve.

During bad times, they think - as you do - that they'll never get better again.

In fact, there are good times ahead now. How do I know this? Why it's because

*every* bust has been followed by a boom. Why would things be any different now?

The political 'spectrum' you speak of applies in the US too? It is just different names... the system is identical.

I suggest you look towards the ancient Greek 'city states' for alternative politics. How about politicians not being elected at all, but selected for a fixed term (non renewable) by the foremost philosophers of the day (who are elected)... and like jury service... is not wanted, but unavoidable?

The criteria is that, they cannot lie, they must live as the poorest (while in office)... and they must pledge allegiance to 'The Good' (which can be religious, political, aesthetic or philosophical).

No other citizen is allowed to influence them. No individual or group is allowed to render them favour (in their lifetime). Inheritance is abolished. All 'chatels' are shared amongst the poorest.

Before this idea is dismissed as nonsense... it is the idea that has been applied to 'royalty' across the world in any number of cultures.

I think we'd all like someone inspirational to come along with all the answers - but wishing for it won't make it happen.

As soon as we have better alternatives I'll be out there standing up - but I don't see it happening. Tell the truth - can you see anyone out there that looks a better bet?

If we fought against our own government, we'd end up like Germany after WW1.

Canada, if you've got any sense whatsoever.

"More than half of people around the world say they would abandon their homelands and move to Canada if they could. Given the choice, 53 per cent of adults in the world's 24 leading economies said they would immigrate to Canada..."

The US and UK are each sinking from the economic iceberg they hit back in 2008.

The choice is yours if you want to hang about listening to the band play on to the bitter end.

The Canadian Government has a lifeline for those who prefer to not go down with the ship:
