What's wrong with moving Israel to Europe?

Aside from it being a suggestion from a certifiable loony, what are the philosophical and religious reasons behind it being a bad idea?

To me, it was a bad idea to, 60 odd years ago, establish a Jewish state in a region that hated Jews. Unfortunately, the region still does and ongoing conflict is the result.

If we could move Israel into Europe, lock-stock-and-barrel, would it prove to be a better or worse solution?

You can't possibly move an entire country...just like that. Almost everyone in Israel knows someone that was wounded or killed personally or through someone. Do you think that it would make sense to just get up and leave after all those sacrifices. Israel...well it was Palestine then was one of the few places that actually accepted a lot of Jews right before the Holocaust...why would a large amount of people with a history of being brutally attacked in Europe move there. What country would give space for them? What about the billions invested in Israel right now and all the buildings?? where would all that money just go...to waste?? Israel is the place where all Jews roots are tied to...it doesnt make sense for them to get up and leave after working so hard to build and defend it.

Great question mate.

Really can't see it happening, Israel having closer ties to the US than England, would certainly be opposed by Old Europe.

I think it would be better for the people of Palestine, but don't think the Israeli's would wabt to relinquish power to Brussels.

Looking forward to reading other responses.

Hmm..maybe it's a bad idea because europe tried to kill all the jews in the second world war. No! wait!, maybe it's a bad idea because Isreal is where the jews have historically lived. No! Wait! - Maybe we can just all come over to your house to live.
